Synopsis:
“Bajarí” (Barcelona in Caló language) portrays the world of the Gypsy culture in Barcelona, a world that Catalonia during the transition period, with its political polarization, failed to integrate and embrace as its own. The story unfolds with a five-year-old boy who dreams of having his red dancer’s boots and with the dancer Karime Amaya, who has just arrived in the city and is preparing to work with a group of musicians for a new show. Both Karime and her mother, who accompanies her, are relatives of Carmen Amaya, one of the greatest flamenco dancers of all time.
